Uttar Pradesh: Minor boy rapes 14-year-old neighbour for 4 months; survivor pregnant



Kanpur: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 16-year-old boy in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur for a period of four months. The incident came to light on Sunday when the survivor’s family approached the police and lodged a complaint against the minor accused.

The crime happened within the territorial limits of Kakadeo Police Station. SHO KK Dikshit said that the accused and the survivor are neighbours. The survivor told the police that the accused had been sexually assaulting her for the last four months. He used to come to her house when her family members were not present and rape her.

Minor develops stomach ache

While speaking to The Times of India, the initial investigation suggested that the accused had sexually assaulted his minor neighbour on multiple occasions. The incident came to light when the minor developed stomach ache. Her family took her to a hospital where the ultrasound test confirmed that she was pregnant. On being asked, she told her parents about it. Then, the parents approached the Kakadeo Police Station and lodged a complaint against the accused neighbour.

Police have taken the accused into custody. The SHO said that he would be produced before a juvenile justice board.

Another incident


In another incident, a case was registered against a middle-aged man for allegedly raping his 11-year-old daughter in Punjab’s Patiala district. Reportedly, the accused had been raping the minor in her mother’s absence for the past four years. However, the incident surfaced last week when the minor complained of stomach ache to her mother.

The woman approached the police and registered a complaint against him. The accused has been booked for under IPC sections 376AB and 506 and Section 6 of the POCSO Act. The sexual assault has left the minor ‘traumatised’. She is receiving counselling.
